Please join us for a guided tour of the Guildford Spike on Thursday 11th October. We will meet in the car park for a 2 p.m. start. The Spike was built in the grounds of the Guildford Union Workhouse as a Casuals Ward, providing accommodation for the vagrant poor. It is the only one of its kind remaining in the country. During the tour we will explore the lives of the Casuals, see the original cells where they slept and discover how they earned their keep.
Booking is essential as numbers are limited. The cost for the tour is £5 per person. For further information, or to reserve a place, please contact:  Judith Long  judith.long2@btinternet.com 01372 375206 Or Roger Davis:  01306 884505‚Äč
